SWANTON-MORLEY, a parish in the hundred of LAUNDITCH, county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (N. E.) from East Dereham, containing 723 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with that of Worthing annexed, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £15. 10. 2., and in the patronage of Edward Lombe, Esq. The church, dedicated to All Saints, was erected in 1379, on an eminence in the centre of the village. Near it stood the ancient manorhouse, surrounded by a moat. William Small, in 1651, bequeathed a rent-charge of £8 for teaching and apprenticing children.
