TATTINGSTONE, a parish in the hundred of SAMFORD,
county of SUFFOLK, 5 miles (S. W. by S.) from
Ipswich, containing 346 inhabitants, exclusively of 319
in the house of industry for the hundred of Samford,
which is in this parish. The living is a rectory, in the
archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated
in the king's books at £6. 13. 4. The Rev. J. Bull was
patron in 1816. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
