The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter, rated in the king's books at £ 18. 6. 3., and in the patronage of the Rev. Charles Burn. A cattle fair is held on the Monday before Michaelmas-day. At Hackworthy, in this parish, there was formerly a chapel of ease.
