THIMBLEBY, a township in the parish of OSMOTHERLEY,
wapentake of ALLERTONSHIRE, North riding
of the county of YORK, 5 miles (E. N. E.) from North
Allerton, containing 200 inhabitants, of whom many
are employed in the manufacture of worsted. Four children
are instructed for about £ 2 per annum, arising
from the rent of certain land bequeathed by Elizabeth
Bolton, in 1'725.
