THORNHAM (MAGNA), a parish in the hundred of HARTISMERE, county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (W. S. W.) from Eye, containing 342 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, with which that of Thornham Parva was consolidated in 1744; it is in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7. 11. 3., and in the patronage of Lord Henniker. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
