THORNTON-le-MOOR, a parish in the northern
division of the wapentake of WALSHCROFT, parts of
LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 5 miles (S.W. by W.)
from Caistor, containing 115 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £9. 10.10., and
in the patronage of the Bishop of Ely. The church is
dedicated to All Saints.
