THORPE, a parish in the southern division of the
wapentake of RUSHCLIFFE, county of NOTTINGHAM,
6 miles (N. E.) from Loughborough, containing 33 inhabitants.
The living is a discharged rectory, in the
archdeaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated
in the Icing's books at £12. 9. 4., and in the patronage
of Lord Rancliffe. The church has been destroyed.
