THROCKING, a parish in the hundred of EDWINSTREE,
county of HERTFORD, 2 miles (W. N. W.) from
Buntingford, containing, exclusively of the extra-parochial
liberty of Wakely, 69 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese
of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £8, and in the
patronage of Mrs. Elwes. The church is dedicated to
the Holy Trinity.
