THURGARTON, a parish in the northern division
of the hundred of ERPINGHAM, county of NORFOLK,
4 miles (S.W. by S.) from Cromer, containing 248 inhabitants.
The living is a discharged rectory, in the
archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated
in the king's books at £9. 6. 8., and in the patronage of
the Bishop of Norwich. The church, dedicated to All
Saints, is a small thatched building without a tower.
Here are slight remains of an ancient hall.
