THURLOXTON, a parish in the northern division
of the hundred of PETHERTON, county of SOMERSET,
5 miles (S. S. W.) from Bridg-water, containing 178 inhabitants.
The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Taunton, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in
the king's books at £6. 15. 10., and in the patronage
of E. B. Portman, Esq. The church is dedicated to St.
Giles.
