THURNBY, a parish in the hundred of GARTREE,
county of LEICESTER, 4 miles (E. by s.) from Leicester,
comprising the chapelry of St ought im, and the hamlet
of Bushby, and containing 400 inhabitants. The living
is a vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Leicester, and
diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £11,
and in the patronage of G. A. Legh-Keck, Esq. The
church is dedicated to St. Luke.
