THURSTASTON, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of WIRRALL, county palatine of CHESTER, 5 miles (N. W. by N.) from Great Neston, conr taining 127 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Chester, rated in the king's books at £6. 13. 6., endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £300 parliamentary grant, and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Chester. The church, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, is a curious small structure, partly in the Norman style of architecture. The river Dee passes by this pkce to Chester.
