THURTON, a parish in the hundred of LODDON,
county of NORFOLK, 8 miles (S. E.) from Norwich,
containing 170 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual
curacy, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk, and diocese of
Norwich, endowed with £1000 royal bounty, and in the
patronage of Sir W. B. Proctor, Bart. The church is
dedicated to St. Ethelbert.
