THWAITE, a parish in the southern division of the
hundred of ERPINGHAM, county of NORFOLK, 4 miles
(N.) from Aylsham, containing 116 inhabitants. The
living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry and
diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £7,
and in the patronage of the Bishop of Norwich. The
church, dedicated to All Saints, has a fine Norman entrance
on the south.
