TIBBENHAM, a parish in. the hundred of DEPWADE,
county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (W. S. W.) from St.
Mary Stratton, containing 553 inhabitants. The living
is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the Icing's books
at £7. 6. 8., endowed with £1000 parliamentary grant,
and in the. patronage of the Bishop of Ely. The
church is dedicated to All Saints. About a mile southeast
of it is Chanons Hall, occupying the site of the
ancient manor-house of Chanons, which was a very
extensive building, surrounded by a moat.
