TINCLETON, a parish in the hundred of FIDDLETOWN,
Dorchester division of the county of DORSET, 5
miles (E.) from Dorchester, containing 142 inhabitants.
The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Dorset, and diocese of Bristol, rated in the king's
books at £5. 11. 8. Mrs. Sturt was patroness in 1802.
The church is a small structure, the burial-place of the
Baynards of Cliff, of which family it contains several
sepulchral memorials. The parish is bounded on the
south by the river Frome.
