TOTTINGTON, a parish in the hundred of WAYLAND, county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (S.S.W) from Watton, containing 284 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £6. 14. 9., endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Governors of Chigwell free school. The church, dedicated to St. Andrew, is a large ancient structure; the churchyard wall is coped with coffin stones having crosses on them, supposed to have enclosed the remains of the ancient vicars and other religious buried here.
