TOWERSEY, a parish in the hundred of ASHENDON, county of BUCKINGHAM, 2 miles (E. S. E.) from Thame, containing 367 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage not in charge, annexed to the vicarage of Thame, in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of Lincoln. John Blackall, Esq. was patron in 1795. The church is dedicated to St. Catherine. Mrs. Catherine Pye, in 1713, bequeathed property producing more than £40 a year for teaching twenty children.
