TREALES, a township, joint with Roseacre and Wharles, in the parish of KIRKHAM, hundred of AMOUNDERNESS, county palatine of LANCASTER, 1 mile (N.E.) from Kirkham, containing, with Roseacre and Wharles, 760 inhabitants. A school was established, in 1814, from the funds of an estate of William Grumbaldson, bequeathed, in 1725, for charitable purposes; £40 a year is paid for the education of seventy children.
