TURWESTON, a parish in the hundred of BUCKINGHAM, and county of BUCKINGHAM, 1 mile (E.) from Brackley, containing 314 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Buckingham, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £12. 16. 3., and in the patronage of the Dean and Chapter of Westminster. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a trifling bequest by the Rev. William Fairfax, in 1762, for teaching poor children.
