UBLEY, or OBLEIGH, a parish in the hundred of CHEWTON, county of SOMERSET, 9 miles (N. by W.) from Wells, containing 393 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Bath, and diocese of Bath and Wells, rated in the king's books at £11. 11. 5., and in the patronage of the Crown. The church, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, has a tower surmounted by a spire. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists.
