WALGRAVE, a parish in the hundred of ORLINGBURY, county of NORTHAMPTON, 7 miles (N. W. by W.) from Wellingborough, containing 529 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, with that of Hannington annexed, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £22. 4. 7-» and in the patronage of the Bishop of Lincoln. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. There is a place of worship for Baptists. Montague Lane, in 1670, bequeathed £200, directing the interest to be applied for teaching poor children.
