WALKER, a township in the parish of LONG-BENTON,
eastern division of CASTLE ward, county of
NORTHUMBERLAND, 3 miles (E.) from Newcastle upon
Tyne. The population is returned with the parish. It
is bounded on the south by the river Tyne, along the
banks of which are extensive manufactories and coalstaiths.
