in that part of the parish of RIPON which is
within the liberty of RIPON, West riding of the county
of YORK, 4 miles (N. N. E.) from Ripley. The population
is returned with Markington. This township
is within the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the peculiar
court of Ripon, belonging to the Archbishop of
York.
