WALLINGTON, a parish in the hundred of ODSEY, county of HERTFORD, 3 miles (E.) from Baldock, containing 210 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Huntingdon, and diocese of Lincoln rated in the" king's books at £16. 15. 2., and in the patronage of the Master of Emanuel College, Cambridge. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is an ancient structure, with an embattled tower, surmounted by a short spire; attached to the north side of the chancel are several mutilated altar-tombs, and other sepulchral remains. John Brown, in 1736, bequeathed property, producing about £5 a year, for teaching poor children.
