division of the hundred of FREEBRIDGE, county of
NORFOLK, 2 miles (N. by E.) from Wisbeach, containing
735 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the
archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the
king's books at £ 16.13.4. H. H. Townshend, Esq. was
patron in 1811. The rectory of West Walton Elien is
rated at £ 16, and in the patronage of the Crown. The
church is dedicated to St. Mary.
