WARLEY, a township in the parish of HALIFAX, wapentake of MORLEY, West riding of the county of YORK, 2 miles (W.) from Halifax, containing 4982 inhabitants, of whom many are employed in the manu-' facture of cotton, worsted, and stuffs. The chapelry of Sowerby-Bridge is in this township. There is a place of worship for Independents. In the neighbourhood is one of those remarkable rocking-stones, supposed to be of Druidical origin.
