WENDRON, a parish in the hundred of KERRIER,
county of CORNWALL, 2 miles (N.E. by N.) from Helston,
containing, with the borough of Helston, which is
in this parish, 6864 inhabitants. The living is a vicarage,
with the perpetual curacy of Helston annexed, in the
archdeaconry of Cornwall, and diocese of Exeter, rated
in the king's books at £26. 19. 4., and in the patronage
of the Provost and Fellows of Queen's College,
Oxford. The church is dedicated to St. Wendron.
There is a small endowed school for teaching children
to read, also two Sunday schools.
