WENHAM (GREAT), a parish in the hundred of
SAMFORD, county of SUFFOLK, 4 miles (S.E.) from
Hadleigh, containing 205 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at-
£8. 13. 4. The Rev. George H. Deane was patron nv
1819. The church is dedicated to St. John.
