WENHAM (LITTLE), a parish in the hundred of SAMFORD, county of SUFFOLK, 5 miles (s. E. by E.) from Hadleigh, containing 90 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, annexed to that of Capel St. Mary, in the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £5. 8. 11. Here are the remains of an old castle, which; from bearing the date 1569, appears to have been either built or repaired in that year; it has been converted into a granary.
