WENHASTON, a parish in the hundred of BLYTHING,
county of SUFFOLK, 2 miles (E. S. E.) from
Halesworth, containing, with the hamlet of Mells, 887
inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in
the archdeaconry of Suffolk, and diocese of Norwich,
rated in the king's books at £6. 0.- 10., and in the
patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated
to St. Peter.
