WESTPORT (ST-MARY), a parish in the hundred
of MALMESBURY, county of WILTS, adjacent to the
north-west side of Malmesbury, containing 1023 inhabitants.
The living is a vicarage, with the perpetual
curacy of Charlton annexed, in the archdeaconry of
Wilts, and diocese of Salisbury, rated in the king's books
at £16.17. 8., and in the patronage of the Crown.
The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
