WHATFIELD, a parish in the hundred of COSFORD,
county of SUFFOLK, 3 miles (S.E.) from Bildes--
tone, containing 326 inhabitants. The living is arectory,
in the archdeaconry of Sudbury, and diocese of Norwich,
rated in the king's books at £15. 0. 5., and in
the patronage of the Master and Fellows of Jesus'
College, Cambridge. The church is dedicated to St.
Margaret.
