WHATTON (LONG), a parish in the western division
of the hundred of GOSCOTE, county of LEICESTER,
4 miles (N.W. by W.) from Loughborough, containing-
820 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry
of Leicester, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in
the Icing's books at £13. 6. 8., and in the patronage of
the Crown. The church is dedicated to All Saints.
