WHITLEY (LOWER), a chapelry in that part of
the parish of GREAT-BUDWORTH which is in the hundred
of BUCKLOW, county palatine of CHESTER, 4miles
(N. W. by N.) from Northwich, containing 236 inhabitants.
The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to
the vicarage of Great Budworth, in the archdeaconry
and diocese of Chester, endowed with £ 800 parliamentary
grant. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan
Methodists.
