WILFORD, a parish in the northern division of the wapentake of RUSHCLIFFE, county of NOTTINGHAM, 1 mile (S. by W,) from Nottingham, containing 569 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the arch- deaconry of Nottingham, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £18. 17- 6., and in the patronage of Sir R. Clifton, Bart. The church is dedicated to St. Wilfrid. The river Trent is here crossed by a ford and a ferry.
