WILLERBY, a parish in the wapentake of DICKERING,
East riding of the county of YORK, comprising
the townships of Binnington, Staxton, and Willerby
and containing 297 inhabitants, of which number, 34
are in the township of Willerby, 7 miles (S. S. W.)
from Scarborough. The living is a discharged Vicarage,
in the archdeaconry of the East riding, and diocese
of York, rated in the king's books at £9. 0. 7v and
in the patronage of the Crown. The church is dedicated
to St. Peter.
