WILLINGTON, a parish in the hundred of MORLESTON-and-LITCHURCH, county of DERBY, 5 miles (N. E.) from Burton upon Trent, containing 411 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Derby, and diocese of Lichfield and Coventry, rated in the king's books at £4. 17. 3., endowed with £800 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Corporation of Etwall and Repton.' The church is dedicated to St. Michael. The river Trent and the Grand Trunk canal pass through the parish. The poor are entitled to send their children for gratuitous instruc- tion to Findern school, in the parish of Mickleover.
