WINCH (EAST), a parish in the Lynn division of the hundred of FREEBRIDGE, county of NORFOLK, 5 miles (S. E. by E.) from Lynn-Regis, containing 376 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at £8, and in the patronage of Edmund Kent, Esq. The church is dedicated to All Saints. In the east window of the chancel are the arms of Vere and Howard; and on the north side is the ancient chapel of St. Mary, the family burial-place of the latter.
