WINTERINGHAM, a parish in the northern divi- sion of the wapentake of MANLEY, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 7 miles (W.) from Barton upon Humber, containing 746 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Stow, and diocese of Lincoln, rated in the king's books at £28, and in the patronage of the Hon. and Rev. J. Lumley Saville. The church is dedicated to All Saints. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. According to Dr. Stukeley, the ancient name of this place was Abontrus.
