WINTERSLOW, a parish comprising East and
West Winterslow, in the hundred of ALDERBURY, county
of WILTS; East Winterslow is 7 miles (N. E. by E.),
and West Winterslow 6 miles (E. N. E.), from Salisbury,
containing 748 inhabitants. The living is a rectory,
in the archdeaconry and diocese of Salisbury,
rated in the king's books at £18. 13. 4., and in the patronage
of Lord Holland. The church is dedicated to
All Saints. There is a place of worship for Wesleyan
Methodists. Near Wintersldw hut are three barrows.
