WISPINGTON, a parish in the southern division of the wapentake of GARTREE, parts of LINDSEY, county of LINCOLN, 4 miles (w. N. W.) from Horncastle, containing 70 inhabitants. The living is a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Lincoln, endowed with £200 private benefaction, and £200 royal bounty, and in the patronage of Edmund Turnor, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. Margaret.
