WITHYCOMBE, a parish in the hundred of CARHAMPTON,
county of SOMERSET, 2 miles (S. E.) from
Dunster, containing 319 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Totness, and diocese of
Exeter, rated in the king's books at £10. 11. 5., and
in the patronage of T. Hutton, Esq. The church "is dedicated
to St. Nicholas. In this parish is a Druidical
circle, formed of rude stones, not far from which are
two cairns.
