WITTON, a parish in the hundred of TUNSTEAD,
county of NORFOLK, 3 miles (E. by N.) from North
Walsham, containing 236 inhabitants. The living is
a discharged vicarage, in the archdeaconry of Norfolk,
and diocese of Norwich, rated in the king's books at
£4. 13. !., endowed with £400 royal bounty, and in
the patronage of the Bishop of Ely. The church is
dedicated to St. Margaret.
