WOOD-EATON, a parish in the hundred of BULLINGTON, county of OXFORD, 4 miles (N, N. E.) from Oxford, containing 69 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Oxford, rated in the king's books at £10.0. 10., and in the patronage of J. Weyland, Esq. The church is dedicated to the Holy Rood. John Collins, a distinguished mathematician, was born here, in 1624; he died in 1683.
