WOODBOROUGH, a parish in the hundred of
SWANBOROUGH, county of WILTS, 3 miles (W.) from
Pewsey, containing 335 inhabitants. The living is a
rectory, in the archdeaconry of Wilts, and diocese of
Salisbury, rated in the king's books at £10, and in the
patronage of G. W. Heneage, Esq. The church is
dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene. There is a place
of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. The Rennet and
Avon canal passes through the. parish.
