WOODCHURCH, a parish in the hundred of BLACKBOURNE, lathe of SCRAY, county of KENT, 4 miles (EbyN.) from Tenterden, containing 1095 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the peculiar jurisdiction and patronage of the Archbishop of Canterbury, rated in the king's books at £26.13.4. The church, dedicated to All Saints, is partly in the early, and partly in the later, style of English architecture, with a tower surmounted by a spire; it contains numerous ancient monuments. There is a place of worship forWesleyan Methodists. A charity school is supported by subscription among the inhabitants.
