The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £12. 13. 1. The Rev. L. Way was patron- in 1819. The church is dedicated, to St. Michael. The Chelmer and Blackwater navigation bounds the parish on the north.
