WORLDHAM (WEST), a parish in the hundred of
ALTON, Alton (North) division of the county of SOUTHAMPTON,
2 miles (S. B. byB.) from Alton, containing
100 inhabitants. The living is a perpetual curacy, in
the archdeaconry and diocese of Winchester, endowed
with £200 private benefaction, and £1000 royal bounty,
and in the patronage of the Warden and Fellows of
Winchester College. The church is dedicated to St.
Nicholas.
