WYLAM, a township in the parish of OVINGHAM,
eastern division of TINDALE ward, county of NORTHUMBERLAND,.
9 miles (W.) from Newcastle upon Tyne,
containing 728 inhabitants, who are mostly employed
in the neighbouring collieries, the produce of which is
brought hither from the south side of the Tyne, under
the river, and conveyed by a rail-road to Leamington.
